A Road To Stardom

Drama Students Share Their Experience At The Fox Theater

Those Who Visited

This is Ariana Rusk. I recently interviewed two students from Drama: Ariel Davila and Abigail Mendoza. I asked them about their experience in the La Sierra High School Drama program. Ariel Davila is a junior at La Sierra High School. Abigail Mendoza is a senior at La Sierra High School.

Ariel Davila

Ariana Rusk : “How long have you been in Drama?”

Ariel Davila:  “I’ve been in Drama since the beginning of this semester.”

Rusk: “Why did you join Drama? Are you glad you joined?”

Davila: “I wanted to join to get more familiar with the tech area and lighting equipment, and also have more classes with my friends. I am sorta glad I joined. It wasn’t what I expected in the end.”

Rusk: “Do you enjoy Drama?”

Davila: “I do enjoy the class but not some of the things we have to do.” she said.

Rusk: “Where was the field trip?”

Davila: “In downtown Riverside at the Fox theater.”

Rusk: “What did you do?”

Davila: “My friends and I went to the food lab to eat food, then we went to the game lab to play after about two or more hours and went to the theater to see The Little Woman.”

Rusk: “What did you learn?”

Davila: “I learned that it takes a lot to produce a musical and there’s a lot of work that is put into them.”

Rusk: “What was the purpose of the field trip?”

Davila: “To have fun!”

Rusk: “How do theater companies and actors prepare for a performance?”

Davila: “They drink water and maybe prepare the costumes and make sure the mic is working properly and so on and so forth.”

Abigail Mendoza

Ariana Rusk: “ How long have you been in Drama?”

Abigail Mendoza: “I’ve been in Drama for 2 years.”

Rusk: “ Why did you join Drama? Are you glad you joined?”

Mendoza: “I’m glad I joined Drama because of a friend. I joined Drama because of the friends I made during those two years.”

Rusk: ”Where was the field trip?”

Mendoza: ” The field trip was to the Fox Theatre.”

Rusk: “What did you do?”

Mendoza: “We watched Little Women.”
